The Passing of Her Majesty The Queen

By
Kevin Vuong, MP

Her Majesty was incredibly attentive, as funny as she was kind and compassionate, and gracious beyond words. There could be hundreds of people in the room, but she made you feel as if you were the only person she wanted to speak with.

The year of Canada's Sesquicentennial, I had the honour of meeting with The Queen - a memory that I will cherish for the rest of my life.

With great sorrow, I send my condolences to The Royal Family. I join Canadians in mourning the loss of Canada's longest-reigning Sovereign, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, Queen of Canada.

Together, we honour her life of service to Canada, the Commonwealth, and the world.

MP Kevin Vuong, then an Acting Sub-Lieutenant in the Royal Canadian Navy, met with The Queen in 2017 at Buckingham Palace when he was named as a medallist and Her Majesty The Queen's Young Leader for Canada.
