Stop taxing taxes: govt triple dips by applying HST on other taxes

While Canadians are struggling with record-high gas prices and the largest increase in food costs in 41 years, the federal government is fleecing consumers.

In Ontario, the government applies HST to fuel purchases and then also applies it to the federal excise tax, federal carbon tax, and provincial road tax.

The government is taxing taxes. It's called tax-cascading and it's wrong.

If it is serious about helping Canadians, the government should take its triple-dipping tax hands out of consumers' pockets.
