Fighting for our community to be heard

By
Kevin Vuong, MP

The Harbourfront Centre skating rink is a beloved and popular part of our Spadina-Fort York community.

Without consultation, the Centre is closing the rink and have ignored input from residents, claiming the Department of Canadian Heritage was informed of and approved their plans.

On the first day that the House of Commons returned to sitting, I raised this matter directly with the government during Question Period today.

It was concerning that not only did the wrong Minister respond, the wrong Minister referenced work done by a completely different agency. Is this how much attention the federal government pays to answering a question involving $20,000,000 of taxpayer dollars?

To ensure our community's voice is heard, I have organized a Town Hall on Friday, February 3rd from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at Waterfront Neighbourhood Centre. This is your chance to provide your thoughts and feedback. Please RSVP at the link here so that we can ensure that we have sufficient refreshments.

For those unable to attend in-person, we will live-stream via Zoom with details to be shared shortly. You can also provide your feedback online here.
