2.5 Million Backlog: Holding the government accountable for their immigration failure

By
Kevin Vuong, MP

2,583,827 people are languishing in IRCC purgatory. Their lives and careers on hold, while our nation is facing a labour shortage.

As the government's own numbers demonstrate, their 10-point plan to address the immigration crisis is just more smoke and mirrors:

  • Over 50% of IRCC applications are backlogged
  • The work permits backlog is projected to hit 60%
  • Total IRCC backlog is 2,583,827 (as of Aug. 31, 2022)

The government's continued failure is hurting businesses, and has real financial consequences for our country's economic prosperity.
