Advocating Affordability: Calling for a reduction to the Carbon Tax

By
Kevin Vuong, MP

The federal government uses the to siphon 14.3¢ of every litre paid at the pump. Worst, they are shamefully doing something called tax cascading by taxing taxes - applying HST on top of the other taxes.

This is hurting affordability as, even if you don't drive, it costs all Canadians by increasing food prices, inflation, and the costs of living.

I called on the Prime Minister to reduce the carbon tax and stop taxing taxes - to please provide struggling Canadians with financial relief. Poverty will kill people before the planet does.

Here's my question to the Prime Minister:

Tragically, the Prime Minister avoided the question and provided a partisan response that hypocritically did what he criticized the Opposition of doing throughout Question Period - making things personal.
